Ice Cube has been in the game for more than three decades and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. With the success of his movie career and budding basketball league, Ice Cube returned to his roots with some new music. This Friday, Ice Cube has dropped his latest project, Everythang’s Corrupt. The new project from the west coast legend comes in with sixteen tracks that last nearly an hour in total. For much of the project, Cube handles things his own, but he calls in Too $hort for the album’s only feature midway through the project.
Prior to the project’s release, Ice Cube has spoken about the inspiration behind it. Ice Cube said, “The album is not over-political, but there are political undertones to it.” He later adds, “But it’s just gangsta rap, talking about things, situations and issues that we dealing with, but just also showing skills and classic Ice Cube.”
Ice Cube is ten albums in and this project is here to show where he’s at currently. As he says, “When you an artist that’s been in the game, you know, I’m on my tenth album, solo album, so I’ve been in the game a while. You got to do what you do best. You can’t go chasing trends.” Stream the full project above and let us know what you think.
