HBO is truly entering into the next phase of its evolution. The network is kicking off Issa Rae’s second show and Game of Thrones is spinning off into a new series called House of Dragon. To get the weekend started, the premium cable network shared the first look at the prequel for the HBO hit series.
“Set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series tells the story of a turbulent period for House Targaryen, one that set sibling against sibling and dragon against dragon. The point of contention: who should rule on the Iron Throne, of course,” the show’s synopsis reads, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
It’s impossible to recreate the magic of Game of Thrones, but House of Dragon will offer a fresh look at the world of war and love. Check out the first official trailer for the prequel before it debuts on August 21, 2022.
