The Charlotte Hornets announced on Monday that they will be wearing Jordan Brand uniforms next season. The announcement came as part of a bigger statement regarding moving the location of the team’s fan shop at the Spectrum Center.
The entire NBA will be switching to Nike uniforms next season, making the Hornets’ decision to wear Jordan Brand possible. This is of course also made possible by the fact that Michael Jordan is the owner of the team. The Nike partnership is set to last for at least eight years.
The Hornets’ statement:
The re-opening of the Hornets Fan Shop will coincide with the launch of the team’s new Jordan Brand uniforms as Nike becomes the NBA’s uniform provider beginning this season. The Hornets will be the only team in the NBA wearing Jordan Brand uniforms, and with the agreement taking effect, the Hornets Fan Shop will have even more of the popular Jordan Brand Hornets merchandise than it has had previously.
There is no word on if the Hornets will also have a jersey sponsor next year, as they have not been one of the few teams to announce their partnership in the NBA’s inaugural season allowing them.
