Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm has reportedly signed a six-fight deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
At 41 years old, the former champion holds a record of 14-6 in the UFC. In May 2022, she suffered a split decision loss against Ketlen Vieira at UFC Vegas 55. Despite the loss, she is still ranked third among 135-pound fighters in the UFC. As a result, Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresquez, believes that she is one or two fights away from challenging Amanda Nunes for the title.
“(The UFC) knew Holly had lots of options out there,” Fresquez told the Albuquerque Journal.
“She was very sought-after and probably could have earned more money elsewhere. Her mission is to get that gold. She’s one or two fights away from it.”
In order to earn a shot at the title, Holm must win her next match. She is set to fight fifth-ranked Yana Santos in San Antonio on Saturday. DraftKings currently lists her as a -245 favorite against her former teammate.
“This is a very important fight for her,” Fresquez explained.
“But I’m confident she’s going to look very good.”
