
The Dallas Mavericks are sending NBA Champion Harrison Barnes to the Sacramento Kings via trade for Zach Randolph and Justin Jackson, according to the Athletic’s Shams Charania.

This move comes just a few days after the Mavericks made a huge trade acquiring New York Knicks all-star Kristaps Porzingis while also parting ways with Dennis Smith Jr. and DeAndre Jordan.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Kings intend on keeping Barnes as part of their long-term plan going forward. Next season Barnes has a $25 million player option that he can exercise in his contract.
“The Kings want to make a long-term play to keep Barnes, who has a player option on his $25 million deal for the 2019-20 season, sources told ESPN”
This season Barnes is averaging 17.8 points and 4.3 rebounds on 40.6 percent shooting in 32.5 minutes per game. Barnes played his final game with Dallas today against the Charlotte Hornets. He scored 10 points and found out he was traded during the game Wednesday night’s game.

The mid-game trade sparked some outrage from Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James who took to Instagram to voice his displeasure with how the trade went down.

After the deal with Randolph, 37, leaving the Kings, Nemanja Bjelica has now become the oldest player in Sacramento turning 31 in May.
