Less than a year after releasing Haram, Gunplay has returned with Active. In preparation for the album, Gunplay gave us singles like “Cheap Thrills”, “My Definition”, “F Me F U” and “My Phone”. Today, the Florida native delivered the full length project. The thirteen track album features guest appearances from Masspike Miles, Curren$y, Rick Ross, Lito, Kidd Adamz and Sam Sneak.
During a recent stop at The Breakfast Club, Gunplay spoke about the album. He said, “On the project, I’m giving a seasoned pen. I made it easier on the ears. I gave you the bars. I gave you the classic Gunplay. I gave you an updated Gunplay. I played with the craft. I played with the music. I’m not going to try to do something that I’m not feeling. I gave you the ‘Bible on the Dash’ Gunplay. There’s a lot of ‘Bible On The Dash’ vibes on there.”
He also addressed his recent move from Def Jam. Gunplay appeared excited to be independent for the first time in a while. Gunplay said, “I just love the freedom of being independent, making my own hours and and doing what I want to do. I can’t get some real coin off of it. There’s no more paperwork or hands in my pocket.”
