Last off season Greg Monroe shocked the NBA and signed with the Milwaukee Bucks, who signs with the Bucks? Things seemed to be bright in Milwaukee, they were coming off a 41-41 playoff season. They signed Monroe thinking he would take them to the next level.
Instead Monroe and the Bucks were a disappointment, they finished this season with a 33-49 record and missed the playoffs. Now the Bucks are looking to trade Monroe. But there’s a problem, no one wants Greg Monroe according to Howard Beck of Bleacher Report.
In the video Beck goes over some possible land spots for Monroe, he mentions Dallas, Portland and Charlotte.
In order for a team to succeed with Monroe they need to match him with a big who can stretch the floor, defend multiple positions and protect the rim. That’s a lot but the Magic did it this off season when they traded for Serge Ibaka and paired him with Nikola Vucevic.
Vucevic and Monroe play similar games both offense first, need to play in a slow pace system and don’t defend. If a team trades for Monroe they will need a Serge Ibaka type player on their roster.
