The year of 2022 was kind to music in many ways. Throughout the year, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, Harry Styles and Lizzo dominated the charts and playlists with their new projects. Adding to the year, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny and Harry Styles made waves in cities across the world as they toured from coast to coast. To top it all off, the likes of J. Cole, Jay-Z and Drake popped out from time to time. With that said, there were quite a few tough moments this year.
In 2022, the world of music lost a number of prominent and legendary figures, including Takeoff of the Migos, Loretta Lynn and Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac. Honoring their legacies, the Recording Academy has planned three tribute performances for the late musicians. Takeoff will join Maverick City Music for a performance of “Without You” at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. Sheryl Crow, Mick Fleetwood and Bonnie Raitt will come together to perform “Songbird” in honor of McVie. Shaping up the trio of tribute performances, Kacey Musgraves will channel Loretta Lynn’s spirit for a performance of “Coal Miner’s Daughter” on Sunday night.
The Recording Academy’s 65th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 5 at 9 p.m. at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
