Alice Is Still Around as Someone Else Proves They’ve Got Skin in the Game Too
Well, someone’s been stealing skin from our corpses, Gotham. Three different morgues got hit this week, all in one night, and each now featuring a few bodies with less skin than they had before. I guess it’s fair to assume this has something to do with that not-so-covered-up Arkham escape. And speaking of escapes, Alice has still remained relatively quiet since her escape from Crow custody a few weeks back. So, who could this new skin-obsessed villain be… There’s no real way to know now but, records show one of the Arkham escapees fancied themselves somewhat of a dermatologist so, I’d put my money on them.
And what was the leader of our fearless Crows doing about this escapee and possible skin thief? For some reason, Colonel Kane opted to ignore that issue in favor of traveling out to the edges of the county on some sort of personal quest. My source puts him and his daughter Kate at a house near where Kane other’s daughter died a decade and a half ago. Reportedly, Kane suffered a pretty gnarly injury at the hands of our favorite (read: least favorite) new lunatic villain, Alice. But, rather than call for back up to catch the new Joker-wannabe, Kane quietly went to the hospital and discharged himself within the hour.
So, for those of you keeping score at home, Colonel Kane ignored a very real, very obvious threat to Gotham’s well-being. Then, he went galavanting off to relive his past traumas at an abandoned house that may not even fall within his jurisdiction. Once there, he let himself get over-powered and injure by Alice, before letting her walk free. And to top it all off, he had at least two other people out there with him, one of whom was his daughter who’s supposedly a world-class-trained fighter. Now, I’m not a conspiracy guy and the Gazette tries to stay reputable. But, something’s not adding up here Gotham.
There’s one of two things going on: Kane, his daughter, and the Crows are all in on this with Alice. (Which feels crazy, even for this city.) Or, Alice has some personal connection to the Kane family and is waiting to strike at another time. If there’s one thing we know in this city it’s lunatics with ‘master plans’ and usually, if they want you dead, they’ll kill you. But, if they want to watch you suffer or tear down your life to the studs, they’ll only injure you. They’ll let you live and think you’ve won just before pulling the rug out from under you. Now, I’m sure Colonel Kane is aware of this as well and a knife to the gut definitely isn’t winning. But, my point is that this fight is personal, which means it’s far from over and far from the worst it’ll get. Even worse, Gotham is caught in the crossfire.
Luckily, we’ve got our new protector and hopefully, she’ll be able to stop this before it escalates any further. We still don’t know if she’s more than just a Batfan playing dress-up or if she’s really even on our side. But, pray that she is and that she’s up for the fight ahead of her.
Batwoman airs Sundays at 8/7 on The CW.
