The Chicago Bulls have informed point guard Goran Dragic that they are waiving him from the roster and making him a free agent. With the season nearing the end, the Chicago Bulls are not the playoff contenders they were hoping they would be to start the season. Dragic will likely gather some interest from teams that are trying to make a push to the 2022-23 NBA Playoffs to close the season. Chicago will likely end the season by focusing on their younger players and preparing for the 2023 NBA Draft and NBA offseason.

This season with the Chicago Bulls, Goran Dragic averaged 6.4 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 42.5 percent and a three-point percentage of 35.2 percent. Last offseason the Chicago Bulls signed the veteran point guard for what they hoped would be vital depth in the NBA Playoffs. The Chicago Bulls are currently the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference Standings with an overall record of 28-33.
While the team is still contending for a play-in spot, this season has largely been a disappointing one for the team filled with injuries and losing basketball games. Goran Dragic will be free to sign with a Playoff contender once he clears the NBA waiver process.
