During the last offseason, Dragic was traded to the Toronto Raptors, along with Precious Achiuwa, in the Kyle Lowry deal with the Miami Heat. He played five games early in the season and then was out of the rotation and the team was looking to move him.
During the trade deadline, a deal was made for him to go to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Drew Eubanks and Thaddeus Young. The Spurs waived him immediately, making Dragic a free agent. In Brooklyn, he will be reunited with his former teammate, and now head coach, Steve Nash.
In his last year with the Heat. Dragic averaged 13.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 26.7 minutes per game.
