We all have a certain image in our minds that make up the ideal body. Whether it be thick and curvy or petite, everyone wants to look a certain way. Unfortunately, not all of us have the exact body that we deem as the ‘ideal’ body. Everyone is built differently, and while sometimes it is possible to achieve the body type that we would like through exercise and dieting, our bodies are physically not always able to conform to a specific shape. That being said, there are some tools that can be used to help us get closer to that ideal image that doesn’t necessarily require us to jump under the knife. From Emsculpt for an alternative to working out to Coolsculpting for melting exercise resistant fat to Sculptra butt lifts, here are a few minimally and non-invasive procedures to help you get your perfect shape!
EMsculpt
Emsculpt is a treatment designed to strengthen your core muscles and add tone and definition to your abs, glutes, and thighs through electromagnetic muscle stimulation. Electromagnetic muscle stimulation sends pulses to the muscles, contracting them for you and leaving you with the results of a workout without actually having to work out. Emsculpt can be used in combination with your regular exercise routine, or alone. There is no down time of any kind after getting either of the two procedures, and the only side effect you may experience is soreness, similar to what you would feel after an intense workout. For the best results, four to six sessions are recommended, and in order to maintain your results, you should practice regular exercise or continue to get the treatment regularly.
CoolSculpting
For some of us, even with vigorous and consistent exercise and dieting, there is always that little bit of stubborn fat that is incredibly hard to get rid of. While liposuction is always an option, many people may want to opt for a non surgical alternative to eliminate their fat. CoolSculpting is a tool that utilizes cryolipolysis technology to freeze and permanently eliminate your fat from resistant areas such as love handles and back fat. The machine includes a vacuum applicator that is placed on the area of concern. Once the machine is turned on, it sucks in your fat and is set to a temperature that will freeze the fat cells without damaging the outside skin. Results should be visible after 2 – 3 months as the dead fat cells are metabolized by the body. Depending on how much fat you have, you may need one or more sessions for desired results. CoolSculpting eliminates 25% of your subcutaneous fat per session and can be used on your abdomen, arms, legs, and around your jawline.
Kybella
Similar to CoolSculpting, Kybella is a minimally invasive tool to eliminate unwanted fat in the submental area and around the jawline. While it does require an injection, there is no surgical intervention involved in the procedure. All it entails is an injection of deoxycholic acid, which breaks down fat cells in the treatment area. You may experience some bleeding, bruising, and swelling, but the results are permanent and will be visible within one to two months. Kybella is ideal for smaller pouches of fat, like a double chin or around your arms.
Sculptra
CoolToning and CoolSculpting is all about downsizing and toning your body. Sculptra on the other hand is all about adding volume to desired areas. Sculptra is an injectable solution made up of poly-l-lactic acid and water that stimulates your own collagen production, which then wraps around particles that would naturally break down in your body, causing the treatment area to gradually increase in size. Sculptra is also great to fill in hip dips if you are someone who already has projection from the back, but want more visible curves from a frontal view. Depending on your original size, how you respond to the treatment, and the results you are looking for, you may need anywhere from 8 to 50 vials of Sculptra to achieve your desired aesthetic look. Be sure to consult with your doctor to see how many vials they think would be appropriate for you.
Overall these are just a few treatments that can benefit you if you are looking to do some body contouring. However, there are several other treatments out there to get you to your dream body. The above mentioned treatments are specifically minimally and non-invasive treatments for people who want to avoid undergoing a surgical procedure. If you are open to surgical procedures, it opens a ton of doors in regards to body contouring, however surgical procedures are highly invasive and come with a number of added possible risks and side effects as well as extensive downtime.
It is also important to note that regardless of what procedure you decide to move forward with, it is highly recommended to consult with a trained medical professional to confirm which treatment is right for you.
