The current state of rap is extremely crowded. As quiet as it is kept, R&B may be equally crowded. Acts like Brent Faiyaz, H.E.R, Khalid, 6LACK and more are all vying for your ears and attention. Just last week, Kehlani and Eric Bellinger dropped new projects. Not to mention, Tory Laenz, Justine Skye, Bryson Tiller and others all have projects slated for the remainder of the year. With that being said, I’ll never be one to complain about the amount of new R&B music being released. This week, another new act returned to the forefront with the release of new music.
Following the release of his latest project, The Song Doesn’t Fit, Gallant has remained relatively quiet. He showed up not too long ago with a cover of Ne-Yo’s “Sexy Love” and now he’s back with a new, original track. Gallant linked up with producer, Adrian Younge, to produce a brand new song called “Strobe Lights”. As the Grammy nominated artist describes, “‘Strobe Lights’ is about those weird sensors in your brain that go off as a kid at your best friend’s house that make you think ‘Hold on, am I the black friend? Is that all they and their family are thinking of me?’”
