Floyd Mayweather Jr. may be done with his professional boxing career, but he is very much interested in extending his fighting career through exhibition bouts. Why wouldn’t he? Just last year, he made upwards of $25 million fighting YouTube sensation Deji. Now, he has his sights set on an exhibition bout in the United Kingdom next month.
“A bout is planned in the UK for 2023,” Mayweather Jr. said.
“In February we’re looking forward to coming here and putting on an exhibition for the fans in the UK, because I’ve never had a chance to come over here and fight when I was actively boxing as a professional – so hopefully in February I’ll come over and do an exhibition if it’s possible.”
Mayweather Jr. has his sights set on traveling to the U.K. in February, but there are a few details that remain unclear. Who will he fight? Where will he fight? The former champion is a major attraction wherever he ends up fighting, but a few things will need to be ironed out in what appears to be a short amount of time.
