Undefeated prizefighter Floyd Mayweather Jr. is currently preparing for an exhibition boxing match with YouTube sensation Logan Paul. However, that is not stopping him from looking ahead to his next potential opponent.
On Thursday, Mayweather Jr., Paul and dozens of media members made their way to the Versace Mansion in Miami, Florida. While there, Mayweather Jr. was pelted with questions and requests, but one inquiry, in particular, caught his attention. When asked if he would fight Conor McGregor a second time, he said he would “absolutely” be open to it.
“Absolutely,” Mayweather Jr. answered.
“The beef is all these guys look up to me, steal my blueprint and then they hate on me.”
Mayweather Jr. was not the only person to express these sentiments. His business partner, Leonard Ellerbe, also said that Mayweather Jr. would be interested in a rematch.
“Conor, if you’re listening, you can get that too,” Ellerbee answered when asked if Mayweather Jr. would give him a rematch.
McGregor and Mayweather Jr. first squared off in Las Vegas, Nevada back in 2017. Mayweather Jr. won the fight by the 10th round stoppage, but both men walked away a lot richer. With 4.3 million homes purchasing the bout, the fight created $600 million in domestic revenue. The financial incentives of a rematch could very well bring both men back.
