Alongside DJ Green Lantern, Emilio Rojas rose to prominence by working alongside the likes of Wale, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, B.O.B and many others. Now, he’s using his voice to pay homage to those who paved the way for him and his peers. Produced by DJ Hoppa, Emilio Rojas’ new single, “Creep With Me,” pays homage to the classic record, “Twinz,” from Fat Joe and Big Pun.
“One of my favorite moments in Hip-Hop is Big Pun’s flow on ‘Twinz.’ As a Latino artist, I was really inspired by Pun and Fat Joe coming up, so I wanted to do that as an homage while also creating something that people can bump,” Emilio Rojas said about his recent collaboration with DJ Hoppa.
With the bar set high, Emilio Rojas does not disappoint. Mirroring the flows of Big Pun and Fat Joe, the New York native effortlessly floats through the uniquely Empire State production.
“Look, and we gon’ ride around/And I pull up on my opps’ block like it’s my side of town/She a squirter. If I f*ck, I put a towel down/Their verses full of more fake shit than Chinatown,” he raps.
“I tell ‘em no way, they know we too strong/And I’m on that Herman Miller, I don’t sit on futons/I’m in that new coupe, we ain’t using coupons/Havin’ group sex, we don’t shop on Groupon.”
After touring the world multiple times, Emilio Rojas is as hungry as ever. Check out his new track below before his new mixtape, Breaking Point II, drops.
