Nearly two years after releasing her debut self-titled studio album, Ella Mai has returned with a new record called “Not Another Love Song.” Produced by Boi-1da, Jahaan Sweet and The Rascals, the song ushers in a new era for the British singer-songwriter.
Throughout the song, she talks vaguely about moving into a new space after an emotional breakup. She adds that the past is getting old and she’s looking to see new things.
“The drama is getting old, need to let it go,” she sings.
“Different episode, same old show,” she adds.
In addition to releasing new music, she will also be performing at Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty Volume 2 Show. Ella Mai will take the stage alongside Lizzo, Big Sean, Bad Bunny, Miguel and many others. She’ll be able to perform her new Boi-1da single and tracks from her first album.
