Exactly three weeks stand between fight fans and the introduction of the latest chapter of the Creed saga. After going to war with the son of Ivan Drago, Viktor, Adonis Creed is back in action. However, this portion of his life story will bring him back in time to a point that he has tucked in the back of his mind,
“Still dominating the boxing world, Adonis Creed is thriving in his career and family life. When Damian, a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy resurfaces after serving time in prison, he’s eager to prove that he deserves his shot in the ring. The face-off between former friends is more than just a fight. To settle the score, Adonis must put his future on the line to battle Damian — a fighter who has nothing to lose,” the synopsis reads.
With the film’s global release still a few weeks away, there are no official reviews available. However, critics were able to offer a few thoughts via Twitter after viewing an early screener. Thus far, the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. In fact, some critics have already called Creed III the best of the trilogy.
“I’ve been fan of the Creed franchise since day one [and] it is by far the best one. Michael B. Jordan did the damn thing as a director. Jonathan Majors is a frightening [and] formidable foe, but this film proved again that my loyalty will forever lie [with] Adonis Creed,” The Root Entertainment Writer Shanelle Genai tweeted.
“Creed III [is] everything you could want from the finale to the Creed trilogy. Jonathan Majors proves to be a ferocious foil for Michael B. Jordan, who delivers a KO for his feature directorial debut [It] plays huge in IMAX. [The] audience [was] cheering throughout. This is gonna be big,” Sunset Awards Chairperson Erik Weber added.
“Creed III is the best movie in the trilogy. This film is brilliantly written [and] Jonathan Majors has stolen another movie that doesn’t belong to him. You will not know who to cheer for. What a fantastic directorial debut for Michael B. Jordan,” entertainment journalist Matt Ramos concluded.
If these early reviews are any indication of what is to come, there is a lot to look forward to on March 3, 2023.
