The Atlanta Hawks have shaken things up this offseason. They traded away Jeff Teague to the Indiana Pacers, making Dennis Schroeder the ‘guard of the future’ for the Hawks. They let Al Horford walk in free agency to the Boston Celtics, and inked Dwight Howard to a 3-year, $70.5 million deal, and also re-signed Kent Bazemore. Now the new and revitalized Hawks are looking to make their way up the Eastern Conference ladder, and Dwight Howard wants to lead them to a title. According to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
“I want to do whatever I can to bring a championship home,” Howard said Tuesday from Philips Arena while attending a Dream game. “I know it’s not going to be easy. I’ve worked extremely hard this summer, every summer. I’m very motivated. I’m really (ticked) off about last season. I’m looking forward to coming back with a different mentality.”
Dwight has been working on his game this summer. Especially one part of his game, his free throws. If Dwight wants to lead this team to a championship, he better improve his career low 48% free throw shooting. It seems he has been working on it with NBA shooting coach Lethal Shooter:

Not only was he making free throws, he was even hitting jump shots:

With Howard and Milsap, the Hawks have options in the front court that will allow them to score the ball in the paint, but the Hawks have a long way to go from an NBA championship. After losing in the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers in the East-Semi’s, the Hawks will try to enter next season with a new perspective with Dwight Howard and supporting cast.
