Dreamville President Ibrahim Hamad has offered a bit of insight regarding Ari Lennox’s next album. While speaking with the hosts of the Say Less podcast, Hamad said that he “can’t wait” for the Washington, D.C. native’s next project.
“What can we expect from [Ari Lennox] soon?” Say Less Co-Host Kazeem Famuyide asked.
“She…She hit a wave recording. She’s in it right now. It’s just incredible. People see that she’s [been] in [the studio] with Missy [Elliott], Jermaine Dupri, Bryan Michael Cox and Pharrell. She got in with all the right people,” the Dreamville Records President answered.
As the interview went on, Hamad began talking about the ups and downs that he’s witnessed the singer-songwriter go through as of late. He explained that she’s gone through tough situations relating to her personal life and harassment online, but she’s now in a “good headspace.”
“For me, it’s more important for her to be in a good headspace. Do you know what I mean? I’ve seen what this game can do to people. I’ve seen her go through it. I’ve seen her get out of it. I just knew that the music and everything would fall in place once that she [was] in a better place,” he explained.
Ari Lennox is one of the many rising stars emerging out of the Dreamville camp. EarthGang, Cozz and Bas have all teased new music in the past year. Not to mention, Omen, Elite and Lute are all lurking in the background with potential new releases.
