MGM’s Creed III does not simply have star power on screen. The film also has a star-studded soundtrack that will feature Dreamville’s wide array of talent, including Bas, Lute and J.I.D. Sitting one week away from the film’s wide release, the rising imprint has called on Bas, Black Sherif and Kel-P to usher in the next track from the highly-anticipated soundtrack.
Led by Bas, “Blood, Sweat & Tears” is the latest insight into the sound and feel of Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut. Accompanied by Afrobeats standouts Kel-P and Black Sherif, the track has light, yet motivational feel that is perfect for a championship ring walk.
“I’ve been waitin’ all my life, I’ve been spendin’ all my nights/Contemplatin’ all my trails, oh my God, this not overnight,” Bas raps.
“I’ve been givin’ all my soul, I’ve been chasin’ all my goals/Dedication all I know, that’s how hard I go.”
“Blood, Sweat & Tears” serves as the follow-up to “Ma Boy” with Lute and J.I.D. Taking a different direction from the Bas collaboration, the two Dreamville acts trade bars about making it to the top while dealing with friends turned foes.
“This life in me, not on me, my boy/Switchin’ lanes in Miami, but I can see envy, my boy,” Lute raps.
“Used to get out the dirt, so you know that sh*t hurt me, my boy.”
The full Creed III soundtrack will arrive with the film next week. In the meantime, check out “Blood, Sweat & Tears” from Bas, Black Sherif and Kel-P below.
