Among the many historic aspects of the Warriors’ season last year was winning a record-breaking 73 wins in the regular season. Armed with the first unanimous MVP, among other things, the Warriors raced out to an undefeated start and kept their foot on the pedal until the end of the year before eventually blowing a 3-1 lead in the Finals.
This year, the team is even better. Chemistry issues notwithstanding, the Warriors added a super star in Kevin Durant. He can only help the team get better.
So, it would not be out of the realm of possibilities for GSW to go for the wins record again and reach it. But after doing so last season, Draymond Green is not enthused about the idea:
Draymond Green: "To be quite frank with you, I don't even want to win 74 games, or 75 games. It's brutal."

I can’t say I blame Draymond. The Warriors did a decent job of resting their starters near the end of the season. But imagine how much more they could do that if they weren’t chasing the record.
The Dubs are so much better than every team that they should have a sizable margin heading into the playoffs. They would be wise to take advantage of that and head into the postseason healthy and rejuvenated. It would at least make Draymond Green happy.
