If there is one thing that Drake has executed properly in 2018, it’s his attention to detail when putting together immaculate music videos. Drake kicked off 2018 with the release of his “God’s Plan” video. The song and video immediately shot up to number one and Drake was applauded for giving back to the Miami community that has given him a lot during his career. A few months later, Drake came back with the surprise release of his video for “Nice For What” which had cameos from Jennifer Lopez, Issa Rae and more. Last night, Drake continued his run of flawless music videos with the release of video for “I’m Upset”.
While the song hasn’t gotten much traction and love from the general public, the video will hopefully give the record a much needed boost. In the six minute video, Drake returns to Degrassi High for a class reunion with all of his former classmates including Stacey Farber, Adamo Rugguiero, Lauren Collins, Jake Epstein, Christina Schmidt, Andrea Lewis, Melissa McIntyre, Linlyn Lue, Stefan Brogen, Ephram Ellis, Jake Goldsbie, Marc Donato, Dalmar Abuzeid, AJ Saudin, Miriam MacDonald, Cassie Steele, Nina Dobrev, Sarah Barrable-Tishauer, and Paula Brancati. Drake and his crew tear up the school and take us back to the days of wheelchair Jimmy.
The video is definitely a win for Drake at a time when he would probably like to focus on the music. Scorpion will arrive on June 29th, but for now you can check out his video for “I’m Upset”.
