As the Milwaukee Bucks gear up for another playoff run, this time as one of the favorites in a thin Eastern Conference, they will have a shortage of role players at their disposal.
According to a press release from the team, rookie Donte DiVincenzo will miss the remainder of the season due to bursitis in his heel.
Under the supervision of team physician Dr. William Raasch, Milwaukee Bucks guard Donte DiVincenzo will undergo a biologic injection at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin to help address the bilateral heel bursitis that has forced him to miss 28 games this season.
The recovery period following the injection will keep DiVincenzo out for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs.
Even though Donte DiVincenzo wasn’t a major part of Milwaukee’s success this season, he is another bench piece they now lose. DiVincenzo also plays the same position as Malcolm Brogdon who will be sidelined for the remainder of the season himself with a plantar fascia tear.
The Bucks still have a number of solid depth options available, something that has helped turn them into a true title contender this season. Even if DiVincenzo never sustained this injury, it was unlikely that he would’ve gotten much playing time in the postseason anyway. The rookie out of Villanova appeared in 27 games for the Bucks this season, averaging 4.9 points and 2.4 rebounds.
