On Sunday, February 9, 2025, Donald Trump will become the first sitting President to attend the Super Bowl. He will be in attendance as the Kansas City Chiefs attempt to win their third straight title while the Philadelphia Eagles hope to pick up their second championship in the last ten years.
“[There are] two great [q]uarterbacks in this game. Also, [there is] an unbelievable running back, and the absolute best tight end in football,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Anyway, it will be a great game! I’ll be doing the interview before the game at 3:00 p.m. There hasn’t been one in four years.”
A few of the stars of the Kansas City Chiefs referenced in Trump’s Truth Social have had varied reactions to the former USFL owner’s post.
“It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president,” Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes said. “Someone that is at the top position in our country.”
“I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there – it’s the best country in the world, so it’d be pretty cool,” Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce shared.
Conversely, Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts had less to say about Trump attending Super Bowl LIX.
“The president can do what he wants,” Hurts said when asked about Trump heading down to New Orleans this weekend.
Regardless of who is in attendance, one thing is certain. On Sunday, February 9, 2025, Hurts, Kelce and Mahomes will meet once again and only one team will be crowned Super Bowl champions when the clock reads all zeroes.
