The Dominican authorities have reportedly identified the man who set up the hit that left David Ortiz in the hospital recovering. The authorities claim that Alberto Miguel Rodríguez Mota was the man who planned to pay $7,800 USD for the hit on Ortiz. Mota reportedly was dealing with Perez as the liaison between the two parties. Authorities arrested Perez yesterday for his connection to the case as the middle man.
The two men met at a bar after being linked together from a jailed suspect as reported from Perez’s arrest. The authorities have found out more information after the arrest of Perez, and now Mota is being charged with attempted murder in absentia. The shooter claims they were not targeting Ortiz, but that is still unclear at this time if the assassins were supposed to be targeting Ortiz or not.
