The Memphis Grizzlies have enjoyed a surprisingly successful season and though rookie Ja Morant has earned much of the attention, the team as a whole features a number of quality young players. One of those pieces is shooting guard Dillon Brooks who’s pieced together a career year through Memphis’ first 50 games this season.
As a result of Brooks’ breakout campaign, the Grizzlies have reportedly rewarded the Oregon product with a multi-year contract extension. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Brooks has agreed to a three-year, $35 million extension with the Grizz.

So far this season, Dillon Brooks has averaged 16 points per game while shooting nearly 40% from three-point range. Starting alongside Ja Morant in Memphis’ budding backcourt, Brooks has been an ideal complement to Morant’s playmaking.
Brooks is a prototypical wing for today’s league. At 6-foot-7, Brooks has the ability to guard multiple positions at a high level and is one of the better perimeter shooters across the NBA. Still only 24 years old and in his third season as a pro, Brooks fits in seamlessly to Memphis’ long-term plans with Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr.
Memphis was able to ink Brooks to an affordable contract too, making this a win-win deal for both sides. Expect Brooks and Morant to develop into one of the most formidable Western Conference backcourts over the next few years.
