There’s a sense of excitement when the “song of the summer” comes on during a July 4th barbeque or a night party in the middle of August. With Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot N*gga”, the sense of excitement was there. With 2Milly’s “Milly Rock”, it was there. Most recently, Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” had that same sense of excitement and then some. This summer, a southside Queens rapper by the name of Dilla Illa could be creating that feeling with his latest single, “Feel That Sh*t”. With dope production and a contagious hook, “Feel That Sh*t” is hard not to rap along too. The visual for the Queens made banger is just as strong as the song. With shots of Dilla out with his squad in the city, the video feels as authentic as Dilla’s bars. Dilla raps:
“Bird a** n*gga/Always want to know what the word a** n*gga/Always gettin’ on a n*gga’s nerve a** n*gga/Wonder why you always gettin’ curved a** n*gga/He’s a cornball baby curve that n*gga.”
On top of giving an incredible visual for “Feel That Sh*t”, Dilla previews the visuals for another song that could be even bigger. Shot in a nearby corner store, Dilla Illa delivers some more bars over excellent production. Standing on the counter of the corner store, Dilla Illa raps, “I’m smoking that loud/That’s that UFO/I’m somewhere on Mars/Y’all n*ggas can’t go.” Given that Dilla Illa’s video ends with the caption, “I should’ve dropped this yesterday,” I think it’s safe to say that he’s got more heat coming in the near future. In the meantime, check out Dilla Illa’s Soundcloud.
