Quarterback Derek Carr and the Las Vegas Raiders have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $121.5 million. The AFC West has made vast improvements this year and now the Raiders have their franchise quarterback under contract for the next few years. Las Vegas made the massive move to trade for Green Bay Packers star wide receiver Davante Adams and then immediately signed him to an extension. This move gives the team a capable quarterback to throw him the ball.

Derek Carr helped led the Las Vegas Raiders to the playoffs this season. In his eight-year career, the quarterback has completed 2,896 passes for 31,700 yards, 193 touchdowns, and 85 interceptions. He also has 254 rushing attempts for 743 yards and six touchdowns in his career. The AFC West is now very stiff competition and wins will have to be earned now more than ever, but the Raiders loaded up to prepare for just that.
Derek Carr’s ranked ninth, sixth, and seventh in net yards per attempt over the last three seasons. Ninth, tenth, and 14th in passer rating. 10th, 11th, and 14th in QBR.
He’s a good quarterback and got a commensurate deal. This doesn’t seem controversial!
