After taking a three year layoff, Detroit’s Danny Brown is back with a new album called uknowhatimsayin. Executive produced by Q-Tip, the 2019 studio album includes a concise eleven track that last about half of an hour. Furthermore, Brown’s latest work features Blood Orange, JPEGMAFIA, Run The Jewels and many more. To go along with the incredible list of features, Brown’s fifth studio album features production from Thundercat, Flying Lotus and many more.
When asked about the process of creating this album, Brown said, “This is my version of a stand-up comedy album.”
He added, “Most of my close friends now aren’t rappers—they’re comedians and actors. So I wanted to create something that mixed humor with music. Something that was funny but not parody.”
In addition to releasing a new album, Danny Brown will also be heading out on tour this fall. Beginning next week, Brown will be making stops in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and many more cities before ending his run on November 19th in Montreal. In the meantime, check out his latest project above and let us know what you think.
