Danai Gurira has inked a two-year overall deal with ABC Studios. Through this deal, Gurira will create, develop, write and produce content for Disney’s myriad of platforms. The deal does not have a talent component as of now. However, she has starred in some of Disney’s biggest film, so it remains a possibility in the future.
“From Zimbabwe to Wakanda to Broadway, there is no one like Danai Gurira,” ABC’s Jonnie Davis said.
“The scope of her talents and the breadth of her abilities are simply astonishing. We are over the moon that she has chosen to make ABC Studios her exclusive home,” Davis added.
In the past, Gurira has starred in The Walking Dead and Black Panther. Currently, she works as a producer and show runner for the upcoming Americanah series on HBO.
