Not even a day in, and Nico Harrison has made some sound moves in free agency. According to Marc Stein, former New York Knicks’ forward Reggie Bullock agreed to a deal with the Dallas Mavericks. Per Dallas Morning News reporter Brad Townsend, the deal lasts for three years. The deal is reported to be worth $30.5 million.

Dallas has addressed its 3-point shooting and defensive woes with the potential Sterling Brown signing. The vision for shaping up the bench is apparent in the last two moves. Bullock may not have the ball-handling skills necessary to allow Luka Doncic rest, but a team can never have enough 3-point shooting.
In 30 minutes of action, Bullock shot 41 percent from deep on six attempts for a playoff team. Aside from his perimeter shooting, his 6’6 frame enables a better vantage point over rival offensive players. Operating under Tom Thibeadau’s relentless defensive schemes translate well for a team whose defensive acumen came into question on a nightly basis.

The trend continues as the Mavericks seek 3-and-d players to fill the roster. Bullock stands as the second player outside of the Mavericks’ 2020-2021 depth chart to agree to play for Dallas. It’s only day one. Follow Def Pen Sports for more free agency news.
