Today, WBO Welterweight Terence Crawford is preparing to fight unified Errol Spence Jr. in what will likely be the biggest fight of his professional career. Not long ago, he was assisting Adonis Creed, played by Michael B. Jordan, in what would be the fictional character’s greatest foe inside the ropes — Damian Anderson. While Crawford has never formally worked as a trainer, he definitely gave Creed a few valuable pieces of information as emerged victorious. During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani of The MMA Hour, Crawford revealed whether or not he believed the man behind the character, Michael B. Jordan, could compete within the “influencer boxing” space.
“Michael B. Jordan, you helped him prepare for Creed III. We’re seeing a lot of ‘influencer boxing’ these days. Could Michael B. Jordan be successful in a legit boxing match against some of these influencer boxers? Given what you’ve seen from him,” Helwani asked.
“Yeah, yeah, but it’s hard though because once these guys start getting punched, you get get to see their real character. You get to see how they react. You get to see their body language. You get to see a lot about a person once they get hit. Everybody can look good on the pads. Everybody can look good at shadowboxing and hitting the bag, but what are they going to do when they get hit? So, Michael B. Jordan is very talented. He’s very skilled. He’s athletic, but I can’t go out on a limb and say he’ll be this type of fighter,” Crawford answered.
Like Creed, Crawford will look to emerge victorious when he steps into the ring on July 29, 2023 at T-Mobile Arena. Tickets for his megafight with Spence Jr. are set to go on sale on June 2, 2023.
