The Los Angeles Clippers have a lot at stake this coming offseason and they know this. They have been rumored to be interested in trading for Pacers star Paul George and it was even reported that they were looking to unload a star of their own. According to ESPN’s Chris Haynes, the Clippers are gauging the trade market for all-star center DeAndre Jordan:
The LA Clippers have gauged the market on potentially trading their All-Star defensive stalwart center DeAndre Jordan, league sources told ESPN.
Sources say the Clippers, in an exploratory fashion, have spoken to a few teams regarding the nine-year veteran.
Jordan is one of the elite centers the NBA has to offer and his intimidating presence in the lane is one that directly alters the outcome of a game. According to Haynes, one of the teams rumored to have expressed interest in Jordan were the Phoenix Suns who are in desperate need of frontcourt help:
One of the teams contacted was the Phoenix Suns, sources relayed to ESPN. A proposal of Jordan in exchange for veteran center Tyson Chandler and the team’s No. 4 pick in the 2017 NBA draft was discussed, sources said.
While the rumors about Jordan’s availability surely would’ve had many teams across the league intrigued, it was reported by Brad Turner of The Los Angeles Times that the Clips are in fact not shopping their star center, despite reports that state otherwise.
Clippers are not actively looking to trade center DeAndre Jordan, team officials said. No deal has been talked about or is in place

If DeAndre Jordan were to be made available by the Clippers, it’d be a head-scratching decision from a franchise that could lose their other two key pieces, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, in free agency this summer. Look for Jordan to stay put in Los Angeles and for him to play a major role in trying to convince Griffin and Paul to return to the Clippers for next year and beyond.
