Ariana Grande is not the only multi-talented act to tease the release of new music later this year. During a recent conversation with TMZ, Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover teased the release of a new album in the near future. While exciting, Glover’s comments do not surprise his biggest fans.
Glover previously teased the release of his next album while walking the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards last year. He told Laverne Cox of E! that he was “in the studio.”
“I’m making music right now,” Glover told Cox last January.
“I love it. I’m actually working [on it]. I’m in the studio. I’ve been, like, bringing people in—like secret people. Like, working on little things. But I’ve just been, like, making it for fun for right now. But soon, something will happen I promise. Something will happen.”
Glover released his fourth studio album, 3.15.20, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 12-track project featured 21 Savage, Kadhja Bonet and the aforementioned Ariana Grande. Since then, he has made guest appearances on Latto’s 777, Summer Walker’s Clear 2: Soft Life and Brittany Howard’s Jaime (Reimagined).
