Chaka Khan has not released a new body of work since 2007, but she has returned with a new project called Hello Happiness. Chaka Khan has previously taken some time off following the death of her friend and collaborator, Prince. Her comeback project features seven tracks and comes complete with new music produced by Sarah Ruba and Switch. The project also comes complete with the singles “Like Sugar” and “Hello Happiness”, which debuted at the 2019 Rose Bowl Parade.
When asked about the inspiration behind the project, Chaka Khan said, “I think we need a shot of just not taking the little things so seriously. Little things are important. It’s about the little things, but just flow.” Now, the project is here and it’s ready to deliver the happiness that the title describes.
