Nearly ten years after announcing a joint EP that never quite materialize, Cam’ron and A-Trak have set the release date for their joint album, U Wasn’t There. The nine-track project will include production from Just Blaze, DJ Khalil and !llmind among others. Conway The Machine, Jim Jones, Styles P, Juelz Santana and Popcaan are also expected to appear on the album. Putting the final touches on the album, Dame Dash is set to appear for spme “trash-talking and philosophizing” on a few interludes.
“[U Wasn’t There is] a crystallized, contemporary take on the Dipset sound we know and love,” Cam’ron and A-Trak told HipHopDX.
To set up the release of U Wasn’t There, Cam’ron and A-Trak have delivered a new single called “All I Really Wanted.” With a soul sample sitting in the background, the Harlem native takes center stage and begins to do what he does best.
“The art of getting money, man/My motto was like f*ck a b*tch/By the time I turned 30, I completed my own bucket list,” he raps.
“I don’t take threats lightly/Be careful with who you *ckin’ with/Down to make you way more famous than your publicist.”
September is shaping up to be a strong month in Hip-Hop. Freddie Gibbs has announced that his album, $oul $old $eparately, will arrive on September 30, 2022. YG is also set to drop I Got Issues on September 23, 2022. Now, fans can also expect a new project from Cam’ron and A-Trak on September 23, 2022.
