Buddy Boeheim seemingly punched a Florida State player during their first ACC Tournament game this afternoon down under the basket. The Florida State player Wyatt Wilkes keeled over in pain after taking the shot in the abdomen from Boeheim mid-game. No flagrant was given to Boeheim during the game which made everyone turn towards a potential suspension after the game and the ACC ultimately decided to suspend the forward for one game which will come against Duke tomorrow.

Without Boeheim, Syracuse will have a tough time beating a Duke squad that has a sour taste in their mouth following the way Coach K’s last game versus North Carolina just went on Saturday. This game was already expected to be tough for a Syracuse team who has struggled this season but without their leading scorer, it becomes even tougher. Boeheim is what makes Syracuse go and had 23 points in the last matchup versus Duke.

Buddy Boeheim apologized post-game for his actions and specifically made sure to apologize multiple times in the handshake line to Wilkes who was ultimately fine and able to continue. Syracuse will need to win the ACC Tournament to make the Big Dance this year and their hopes seem even slimmer than they did coming into the week at this point.
