Buccaneers guard Logan Mankins has announced to the team that he will retire. ESPN’s Adam Caplan was the first to report the news.
On final year of deal. $6.75m base salary, $7m cap number. No dead money. https://t.co/xOu6HkF05K

Tampa Bay’s immense cap space will grow another $7 million following the move. The pro bowl guard previously said he would “make the right decision” in regards to his retirement. The move probably put the Bucs in play for Kelechi Osemele who is regarded as the top guard in free agency.
Prior to the 2014 season Mankins was traded to Tampa Bay in exchange for Tim Wright and a 4th round pick. Mankins was more famously known for spending 9 of his 11 NFL seasons with the Patriots winning two Super Bowls along the way.
