Blake Griffin Withdraws From US National Team
Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin was one of 19 players selected to the U.S. National Team roster this summer, but Griffin announced on Thursday that he will withdraw from the pool. The World Cup team will be assembled from this roster, but Griffin says he’s more focused on preparing for the upcoming NBA season this summer.
Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook also chose not to participate due to his past knee injuries. The U.S. team training camp starts on Monday in Las Vegas where they’ll prepare for the World Cup in Spain.
