Birdman and Benny Boom are teaming up to produce a brand new film called Tazmanian Devil. As reported by Deadline, the film will be based on Solomon Onita Jr.’s film project of the same name. Groundwork Studios and Cash Money Films will provide the financing for the film while Birdman and Benny Boom serve as executive producers. The film will star Abraham Attah of Beasts of No Nation, Adepero Oduye of When They See Us, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine of The Chi and Kwesi Boakye of Claws.
After the film was publicly announced, Bryan “Birdman” Williams said, “I am honored to work with Benny; we share a great history in the music business over the past 20 years.” He added, “Benny and I have often discussed making films together and this project presented us with the perfect opportunity to produce a great movie.”
Benny Boom was also excited about the project. He stated, “I have been creating visuals for Cash Money artists for decades and I am excited about this next phase of our collaboration.” He also noted, “Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams has supported me since my first years Directing and this joint venture is a natural business and creative transition–the first of many.”
The film is currently in post production. No release date has been provided yet.
