Buffalo Bills receiver Marquise Goodwin proved himself at the Pan Am Games by bringing home silver in the long jump event. Goodwin leaped 27 feet, 1 3/4 inches just coming up short to fellow American Jeffery Henderson by twenty-seven centimeters. Of course this isn’t the first time Goodwin leaped himself onto the podium winning the NCAA championship twice in long jump when he attended the University of Texas. He even finished 10th at the London-Olympics in 2012 so this isn’t just one time deal. Even though he struggled to stay healthy as a wide receiver showing up on the injury report seven times with injuries varying from hamstring all the way to a rib injury, hasn’t slowed down his long jumping abilities.
Taking home sliver is a long overdue publicity boost for the 24-year-old. This will not only open up more opportunities to continue his long jump career but, also helps out the Bills franchise.

“Marquise Goodwin says having the ability to compete in two sports “is a gift. I’m just trying to use that gift.”
If he puts in the work for long jump he could one day be a top competitor he is already half-way there. Can’t wait until next years Olympics to see what he brings.
