It appears like the Buffalo Bills have found their new head coach. According to Buffalo news reporter Vic Carucci, the Bills have set their sights on Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott.
#Bills are zeroed in on Sean McDermott as their next HC. Could have something finalized in the next day or so.

The Bills were in need of a new head coach after Buffalo decided to fire Rex Ryan. The Bills decided not to go with interim coach Anthony Lynn who filled in for Ryan in the week 17 finale. The Bills job was as closely monitored one especially after general manager Doug Whaley apparently had no idea why Rex Ryan was fired. Anthony Lynn, Harold Goodwin, and Kris Richard were the only other coaches to interview for the position.
McDermott, 42, has been the Panthers defensive coordinator since 2011. The Panthers defense regressed a bit from the 2015 season but McDermott is regarded as a great defensive minded coach. Carolina’s defense ranked 10th in DVOA and led the NFL in sacks in 2016.
*UPDATE:
With Sean McDermott agreeing to become Bills’ HC, Panthers Asst HC Steve Wilks is the favorite to succeed him as Panthers’ DC, per source.
