Leading up to the release of his most recent studio album, The Off-Season. J. Cole suggested that he would take a break from music after releasing the project and fulfilling his touring agreements. Well, plans do change. While on tour, J. Cole stopped in Las Vegas, Nevada to perform at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Festival. He completed his time in “Sin City” by dropping a freestyle over Drake’s “Pipe Down.” In the surprise release, the North Carolina native noted that he planned to take a break from music, but he found it too hard to do so.
“Supposed to be relaxin’, this passion makes that impossible,” he raps.
Since making that statement, the Dreamville leader has organized a music festival, landed on a few festival flyers, collaborated with YG and dropped a Gangsta Grillz project with his label. Now, he’s found his way on to yet another track.
Tonight, Bia delivers one of the more unexpected collaborations of 2022. The Boston native has linked up with J. Cole for a track called “London.” Produced by Jon Glass and AzizTheShake, “London” provides a hard-hitting trap landscape that the talented duo easily make their way through.
“Wearing designer, I’m in the future/I got a future, I’m in a new truck/I’m in the booth, yeah, drinkin’ kombucha/Singin’ with Smiley, speakin’ me highly/Tryna go Kylie, I woke up finally/Suffer in silence, wakin’ up violent,” BIA raps.
“I’m in this b*tch with no tan like I’m Jango/We from the ends, where they know that they can’t go/She go both ways, so I’m tastin’ the rainbow/Yummy, they got no more bread, they’re crummy/The same way that Melo was staring at Rih, the way that I stare at the money,” J. Cole adds.
“London” could be a song we hear all summer long. Check it out below.
