Beyoncé woke her rabid fan base up in the middle of the night and set the internet ablaze with a simple, three-word message.
“Beyoncé. RENAISSANCE. July 29,” a message from TIDAL reads.
Alongside the major announcement, TIDAL shared pre-save and pre-add options through Spotify and Apple. The message did not specify that the Houston native would be releasing a new album, EP or single. However, many outlets have indicated that Renaissance is the title of her seventh album. Furthermore, fans have pointed out the exact text of the message posted to TIDAL’s Twitter account. Specifically, fans are excited that Renaissance is simply part one of a larger movement that she is creating.
Beyoncé always creates an event of her album releases. In 2013, she shocked many listeners when she dropped a complete LP with music videos for each song. Three years later, she returned with a full-length film released through HBO. Now, it appears that she’s ready to take things to an entirely new level.
