Two time all-star Baron Davis has been out of the NBA for three years. The last time Davis touched an NBA court was in the 2012 playoffs, adjourning a New York Knicks jersey. That was also when he severely damaged his right knee, tearing multiple ligaments, including his ACL. However, we’ve seen plenty of videos of Davis working out with NBA players surface over the past couple years and it seems like the guard is still in pretty decent shape.
Davis is now 36 years of age, which is not unfathomable to play in the NBA seeing Andre Miller is still getting consistent playing time at age 40. If you have the right NBA mind and high basketball IQ age really is just a number. Baron Davis is now trying to ramp up his workouts in Los Angeles as he is eyeing a return to the NBA. Davis made his announcement on SiriusXM NBA Radio:
"This is the first time I'm going to put myself out there, I'm going to try out for some teams." @Baron_Davis on looking to get back to @NBA

Davis isn’t the only ex-Cleveland Cavalier attempting to make a comeback as Jamario Moon is also eyeing a return to the league. When in his prime, Davis was one of the most exciting players in the league, no question. He had plenty of bounce and displayed incredible court vision, making him an elite point guard. However, those days are long gone and it’s highly doubtful that we see him play much next year, that’s if a team even picks him up in the first place. Though, he won’t provide much on the court, he could be a mentor for younger point guards and really be a locker room presence come playoff time. Most likely a couple teams desperate for some depth at point guard may give him a shot, but other than that Davis’ comeback hopes look bleak.
