Former President Barack Obama may not be looking to re-enter the political world as a public official, but he is definitely prepared to hit the campaign trail this fall. The former President has announced that he will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada in November to support Senator Catherine Cortez Masto and Governor Steve Sisolak as they strive to remain in office.
News of Barack Obama’s stop in Nevada comes just a few days after he announced that he would campaign in Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia. On October 28, he is expected to campaign alongside Senator Raphael Warnock in Atlanta. One day later, he is expected to stop in Milwaukee to support Governor Tony Evers and Mandela Barnes as he runs for Senate. Shortly thereafter, he will stop in Detroit to campaign alongside Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II.
“Given the high stakes of this year’s midterm elections, President Obama wants to do his part to help Democrats win next month,” a statement from former President Barack Obama reads.
“He looks forward to stumping for candidates up and down the ballot, especially in races and states that will have consequences for the administration of 2024 elections.”
Election Day is set for November 8, 2022.
