Hip-Hop pioneer Fab 5 Freddy has recently celebrated the first anniversary of his emerging cannabis brand, B Noble. Developed in partnership with major cannabis operator, Curaleaf, the young imprint was created in honor of Bernard Noble.
Due to the criminalization of cannabis, Bernard Noble was arrested and imprisoned for 13 years after being accused of possessing the equivalent of two joints. Fortunately, Noble’s case drew national attention over time and he was eventually released in 2017. While Noble was able to regain his freedom, he spent seven years behind bars that he will never regain.
Following his release, Fab 5 Freddy and company began working to bring awareness to Noble’s story through B Noble. Launched in July 2021, the brand has already expanded into nine states while building valuable partnerships along the way. Dedicated to giving back to those impacted by the War on Drugs like Noble, B Noble shares 10% of sales with nonprofit organizations like The S.T.A.R.T Project and Changing Perceptions that are working to address the systemic inequities of cannabis criminalization.
Thus far, Fab 5 Freddy’s work has expanded into a Netflix documentary, several awards and much more. Not bad for a guy out of Bed-Stuy!
