For many around the country, the first weekend of July provides an opportunity to sit down, refresh and enjoy the things that make life truly special. Whether its a barbecue with loved ones or a fireworks celebration, a three-day weekend provides many people time to take in all of the important things that make life worthwhile. In his latest video, Avelino is able to reflect on where he’s been, acknowledge the places that have made him whole and allow him to be who he is today.
The “Magick” visuals provide a setting that is familiar regardless of whether you reside in London’s Hamilton Close Flats or not. Avelino can be pictured sitting down getting his hair braided as a pair of elders play cards, fathers are on the grill and kids are running around with toy guns. In the background, Avelino raps about the blessings that he has and the challenges that still persist.
“I’m only, on fire, don’t shoot, don’t fire/I just done “Wireless”, they want me through the wire, mmm/I got, house money for a stage show,” he raps.
“I’m meant to be dead or in jail, check the ratio/Yeah, you don’t get too many second chances/In the one-five, probably still be in the dinger if it, wasn’t for drive/Had to punch above my weight and now I’m, hittin’ them heights.”
“Magick” is Avelino’s second visual release of the summer. Be sure to stay on the lookout for more new music to come.
