Proclaimed to be dead to the general public, Callum Lynch (played by Michael Fassbender) has been kidnapped by the biggest corporation in the world, Abstergo. Abstergo has built a machine that they call the Animus, which allows the company to explore the memories of a subjects ancestors; in this case, Callum Lynch’s 15th century ancestor, Aguilar of Spain. Sophia and Alan Rikkin (played by Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons) will guide Callum through this experiment.
By the looks of the trailer, all companies involved have agreed to stay true to the source material. From the animus, to the creed and the iconic, leap of faith, it’s all an Assassin’s Creed fan can ask for. With that being said, this film can be the reason behind Ubisoft choosing not to release a new Assassin’s Creed console title this year.
The Assassin’s Creed movie will be in theaters December 21, 2016. The war between Assassin’s and Templar’s starts NOW! Watch the trailer below.
